 Фильм начинается летом 2024 года в Париже, который готовится к международным соревнованиям по триатлону. Впервые участники будут плыть по реке Сене. Однако за несколько дней до события эколог Мика Беранджо обнаруживает в реке акулу Мако. Она немедленно информирует свою наставницу, известного ученого Софию Шавье, о находке. София в прошлом уже сталкивалась с этим хищником, и это столкновение стоило ей личной утраты. Новость вызывает у нее тревогу и решимость предотвратить катастрофу.

София обращается к городским властям с просьбой о зачистке речных вод, но получает отказ. Власти, поглощенные заботами о престиже и финансах, не желают отменять соревнования. Понимая, что время уходит, София решает действовать самостоятельно. Она заручается поддержкой начальника речной полиции Адила Хамадиса. Вместе они разрабатывают план по нейтрализации опасности.

Им предстоит бороться не только с хищником, но и с бюрократическими препятствиями. Оба героя полагаются на свои знания, хитрость и прошлый опыт, чтобы спасти жизни спортсменов и провести соревнования без происшествий. Смелость и решительность Софии и Адила становятся ключом к предотвращению трагедии, что делает фильм захватывающим и наполненным драматическими моментами.
